Here we go again….
With the “Dallas” and “I Dream of Jeannie” films deferred, Columbia has spotted a windowpane of opportunity to get another ‘TV show cum film’ off the ground. The Culver City gang have locked in Bernie Mac and Nick Cannon to star in a big-screen version of the classic TV sitcom “Sanford and Son”.
Yep, “Sanford and Son”.
The film version – again fixing on the misadventures of a cantankerous junk dealer and his frustrated son – has been in development for a few years now actually. It’s been playing musical chairs with several studios – ultimately landing at Sony.
No word on when this’ll get up, nor who’s brave enough to direct it (surely Dennis Dugan’s available?) – but that’s the word on the littery streets.
