Seems Stallone the director is Expendable after all

With his diary showing few free dates this year, no surprise to hear that Sylvester Stallone has opted not to direct – let alone write – the sequel to his 2010 hit “The Expendables”.

24Frames reports that Stallone, who is gearing up to shoot the new film “Headshot”, is in talks with various directors to helm the sequel. Sly, who also co-wrote the original film, has assigned writing duties over to Ken Kaufman and David Agosto.

Assumingly Stallone would star, or at least appear in the sequel, alongside original ‘Expendables’ Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Jet Li, Terry Crews and Mickey Rourke. It’s long rumoured that Jean-Claude Van Damme will be added to the cast, playing a villain, and that Bruce Willis will reprise his shady C.I.A character for the flick.

Who should direct “The Expendables 2” you think?
