Shawn Levy producing but not directing A Night at the Museum 3

Shawn Levy’s 21 Laps shingle has closed a new, overall first-look deal with Fox.

The Hollywood Reporter says projects on the “Real Steel” director’s to-do list for the studio include a third “Night at the Museum”, placing Ben Stiller back into the world of animated exhibits. Levy won’t direct the second sequel to the hit family comedy though, deciding to hand the reigns over to an as-yet unnamed director.
Also on Levy’s dance card, the comedy “Project Aloha” with Ben Stiller and Jonah Hill, and “Fantastic Voyage”; a remake of the classic shrunken-gang adventure, which James Cameron will produce.
As a producer, Levy will be on “Brother From Another Mother”, from director John Hamburg; a feature film take on TV’s “Sesame Street”; “Fancy Nancy”, from Tina Fey; “Alone for the Holidays”, written by SNL alum Seth Meyers; and “Kodachrome”.

Levy’s next flick, “The Internship” with Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson will also be distributed by Fox.

“Shawn’s boundless energy, ambition and effortless creativity make him the perfect partner,” said Fox president of production Emma Watts. “We are lucky he continues to call Fox his home.”
