Sonequa Martin-Green (“Star Trek : Discovery”) will return to the distant reaches of space for Warner’s “Space Jam” sequel.
The actress, says The Wrap, is in talks to join LeBron James in the CG animation/live-action hybrid.
James, long attached to the follow-up to the ’90s classic, is also producing the sequel.
Terence Nance is directing, “Black Panther” helmer Ryan Cooler will produce.
While her role isn’t known, the outlet says that Martin-Green snagged the part over a number of other actresses who tested earlier this month at the L.A. Lakers’ training facility in El Segundo.
“Space Jam 2” is expected to be released in the summer of 2021.
