A Steven Seagal movie on the big screen again!?
Seagal is attached to “Cypher”, a $25 million dollar action thriller that would mark the “Under Siege” star’s first headline (he had a role in “Machete”) cinema release since 2002’s “Half Past Dead”.
Variety says :
Aldamisa topper Sergei Bespalev and Seagal are producing the $25 million project, targeted for an April launch of production. The project has been quietly unveiled at the American Film Market with preliminary discussions about international sales.
Seagal will portray a special forces operative who — frustrated with the bureaucracy of war — goes rogue and tries to exterminate terrorists being protected by the government.
Seagal has written the script. No director is attached.
