The CW has opted to leave superhero series Stargirl at season 3, while Marvel’s Wonder Man series at Disney+ has announced the casting of Aquaman‘s Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in the title role.

Destin Daniel Cretton will direct and exec produce, with Andrew Guest serving as head writer on the latter. As previously announced, Ben Kingsley’s Trevor Slattery will be a fixture on the show.

Also kicking off shortly, DC’s The Penguin series at HBO Max. A spin-off of The Batman, with Colin Farrell as the title character, the new show will also feature the character of Sofia Falcone. As per Deadline, How I Met Your Mother‘s Cristin Milioti has snagged the coveted female lead role, that of gangster Carmine Falcone’s daughter.

As for Stargirl, “Deadline understands the team behind DC’s Stargirl, like Nancy Drew, was given an early indication that this might be the final season and to write an ending that would reflect that. The decision is thought to have been made by Nexstar executives. “
