Umpteen years after Hollywood seemingly gave up on their plan to reboot the classic animated series as a feature film, ABC has inked a deal to turn “The Jetsons” into a live-action TV series.
The multi-camera comedy, which landed at the network with a put pilot commitment, sees the futuristic clan return to where it all started – though ABC tanked the original “Jetsons” from prime time after only a season.
Robert Zemeckis, whose name likely helped the pilot get the go ahead at ABC, serves as one of the executive producers. TV vet Gary Janetti is the writer.
