TV casting : Legends of Tomorrow, Maniac

Ray Palmer’s mother has been cast in “Legends of Tomorrow” season 3, with Susie Abromeit (“Jessica Jones”) scoring the role. Ray Palmer/The Atom (Brandon Routh) has been a regular on the show since the first season, and Abromeit will have a guest role on the show as his mother.

According to TV Line, episode 4 of the coming season will head to the 1980s to investigate Ray’s childhood, where Abromeit will appear. (It was also reported over the summer that there is a very good chance viewers will also meet Ray’s brother Sydney this season, to also be played by Legends‘ Brandon Routh.)

Justin Theroux has come aboard the cast for upcoming Netflix show “Maniac”, directed by Cary Fukunaga. He joins Emma Stone and Jonah Hill on the cast. The show is a 10 episode drama based on the 2014 Norwegian series.

Per Indie Wire, Hill and Stone’s characters are patients in a mental asylum and a majority of the season will take place in their dreamed-up fantasy worlds. Think of it as Fukunaga’s version of “Sucker Punch.” Theroux is playing a character named James Mantleray, who is rumored to be an alcoholic mad scientist. No character description has been confirmed.

The show has just begun production in New York City.
