“Dreamgirls” chalks up 8 nominations
It’s going on 2am here in Summery Australia, and I’ve still got a couple of piles of work to get through before I call it a night, but I wanted to quickly jump on and let you all know that the Oscar Nominations have been announced (I probably didn’t need to tell you, right?).
Good to see “The Departed” getting a nod, great to see young Abigail Breslin get a Best Supporting Actress nomination, and pleased to see Leo got a spot on the best Actor list – surprisingly, it was for “Blood Diamond”, not “The Departed”. Thought it may have been the other way around. Oh, and here’s hoping Eddie Murphy takes the golden man away for “Dreamgirls”. There’s nothing better than witnessing a career rebirth. All in all, its an interesting year for Oscar. Some good movies – though did you see that “Dreamgirls” didn’t get a nod for Best film? interesting – on release.
Anyway, I’m going to sip this cup of Joe and start working my way through the rest of this paperwork, you guys go and check out the nominations here.
