Trailer : Rodney King

The trailer for Netflix’s “Rodney King”, from director Spike Lee, has been released.

The movie, airing April 28, takes viewers back a quarter of a century to the 1991 beating of King and the 1992 Los Angeles riots.

Roger Guenveur Smith plays King, an innocent black man who, you’ll recall, was beaten by three white police officers in 1991. King died in 2012 by drowning, following a lifetime of battling alcohol and drug abuse and repeated run-ins with the law.

The movie takes an interesting approach to telling King’s story – as you’ll see.
