Trailer : The Wind Rises

Having loved Studio Ghibli films “Spirited Away”, “Arrietty” and of course, “Howls Moving Castle”, I am intrigued by the trailer for their latest effort “The Wind Rises”.

Directed by Hayao Miyazaki, the film might very well be his final feature for the studio.

The movie tells the story of Jiro Horikoshi, the man responsible for designing the Zero Fighter, used by Japanese pilots in WWII; it also examines Japan’s turbulent entry into the first half of the 20th Century as the country struggled through both natural disaster and economic fallout.

Although the film received mixed reviews at TIFF, this dialogue-less trailer features the film’s gorgeous animation (a trademark of Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli films).

It is planned for the film to open in U.S. theatres on February 21st 2014, with further expansion in the following weeks.
