Clarice

A “Silence of the Lambs” sequel series, fixing on young FBI agent Clarice Starling, is in the works at CBS.  The series sees Starling returning “to the field to pursue serial murderers and sexual predators while navigating the high-stakes political world of Washington, D.C.” Clarice will be written and executive produced by Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet.

Shameless

Showtime has announced that it has picked up an 11th and final season of its hit comedy series “Shameless”, premiering this summer. “Shameless”, which originally premiered in the winter of 2011, ranks as the network’s no. 1 comedy, its longest-running series and has the youngest-skewing audience of any Showtime series. Season 10 of “Shameless”, which will finale on Sunday, January 26, has been averaging 5.7 million weekly viewers across platforms. The announcement was made today by Gary Levine, President of Entertainment, Showtime Networks Inc., at the Television Critics Association’s Winter Press Tour.

The Untitled Richard Linklater Project

CBS All Access, CBS’ digital subscription video on-demand and live streaming service, today announced a new original series order for The Untitled Richard Linklater Project, a docuseries executive produced by Academy Award(R) nominated filmmaker Richard Linklater and two-time Academy Award(R) winner Bill Guttentag. Produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Dr. Phil’s Stage 29, Linklater’s Detour Filmproduction and Guttentag and Nayeema Raza’s 1891 Productions, the 10-episode series takes place in and around Austin, Texas, Linklater’s hometown, and will provide a window onto the colorful and diverse world of animal rescue through moving, humorous and powerful stories of animals and the humans who love them.

“I come to this project hoping to shine a light on the folks I’ve met who are making a difference everyday in the lives of unwanted, abused and disabled animals. What strikes me most is the joy and discovery on both sides of the relationship between the animals and their human caregivers. Star Trek : Picard

CBS All Access today announced the second season renewal of its upcoming original series “Star Trek : Picard”.The announcement was made by Julie McNamara, Executive Vice President of Original Content for CBS All Access, during the service’s biannual Television Critics Association presentation.

“The energy and excitement around the premiere of “Star Trek : Picard” has reached a magnitude greater than all of us at CBS All Access could have hoped for,” said Julie McNamara, Executive Vice President, Original Content, CBS All Access. “We’re thrilled to announce plans for a second season before the series’ debut, and we are confident that ‘Star Trek’ fans and new viewers alike will be captured by the stellar cast and creative team’s meticulously crafted story when it premieres on Jan. 23.”

Westworld

“Westworld” returns for its eight-episode third season Sunday, March 15 (9:00-10:10 p.m. ET/PT), exclusively on HBO. A dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the birth of a new form of life on Earth, the show was created for television by Jonathan Nolan & Lisa Joy, who are also executive producers.

Homeland

Showtime has released a new trailer for the final season of “Homeland”, premiering on Sunday, February 9 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The final season finds Carrie Mathison (Danes) recovering from months of brutal confinement in a Russian gulag. Her body is healing, but her memory remains fractured – which is a problem for Saul (Patinkin), now National Security Advisor to the newly ascendant President Warner (Emmy and Golden Globe winner Beau Bridges). The top priority of Warner’s young administration is an end to the “forever war” in Afghanistan, and Saul has been dispatched to engage the Taliban in peace negotiations. But Kabul teems with warlords and mercenaries, zealots and spies – and Saul needs the relationships and expertise that only his protégé can provide. Against medical advice, Saul asks Carrie to walk with him into the lion’s den – one last time. Along with Danes and Patinkin, the final season stars Maury Sterling, Linus Roache and Costa Ronin, with Nimrat Kaur and Numan Acar also returning from season four in series regular roles.
