For months it has been speculated that Joaquin Phoenix would star in Marvel’s “Doctor Strange”, with talks between the actor and studio stretching on and on.
Now it has been revealed that negotiations have ended and that Phoenix will not star in the super hero flick.
Why? Well, officially the reasons have not been disclosed, however it has been suggested that Marvel’s long contracts were an issue.
Now Marvel people are back on the search for the actor to play their titular character – Tom Hardy, Benedict Cumberbatch and Jared Leto have previously been linked to the role.
Scott Derrickson is directing the film which is based on the “Doctor Strange” comic. It follows the former neurosurgeon who becomes Sorcerer Supreme, protecting Earth from magical and mystical threats.
