Zachary Quinto talks Heroes Reborn

Like a fiery football coach, seems Zachary Quinto doesn’t like repeating himself.

The “Star Trek” star says he was approached to reprise the villainous Sylar for the new “Heroes” spin-off, but turned down creator Tim Kring’s offer.

“No, I’m not going to go back,” Quinto told Buzzfeed while at the Sundance Film Festival. “I talked to them about it, and Tim reached out to me when they decided they were going to do it. We had a great conversation. It was such a meaningful experience for me – I loved that job, I loved those people. I just felt like I didn’t want to go back to it.”

Quinto is all for “Heroes : Reborn” though – he’d just prefer to watch it roll out from afar.

“I’m thrilled that they’re doing it. I’m thrilled that Jack Coleman is going back to it. And I know that they just cast Zach Levi, which is great. I mean, it’s a great thing to be a part of, I just felt like I need to cultivate other outlets for myself.”

Wonder if this means they’ll recast the role? Obviously Kring had plans for Sylar if he was trying to lure Quinto back.

Considering most of the original cast are now booked up and out elsewhere (particularly Hayden Panettiere) I think Kring’s going to be hard pushed trying to fill the thing with reprisals.

The Strangers sequel finally going ahead?
