Sony have always been keen to develop a large universe of films set within the “Spider-Man” universe – and even now that they’re working with Marvel on the “Spider-Man” reboot (2017’s “Spider-Man : Homecoming”), those plans are still in place.
Jeff Sneider mentioned on the most recent episode of Meet the Movie Press that one of those long-gestating spin-off projects, “Silver Sable” is one that Sony definitely still wants to do.
Apparently, “Shame” scribe Abi Morgan is in talks to write the screenplay for the film, which would fix on the female mercenary who has had sort of a love-hate relationship with right and wrong.
The project will likely only be greenlit if “Spider-Man : Homecoming” is a success for Sony, so don’t expect to hear anything definite on any spin-off project until at least late 2017.
