Versatile thesp Catherine Keener (“Being John Malkovich”, “The 40 Year-Old Virign”) has joined the cast of “Soldado,” Lionsgate’s follow-up to last year’s acclaimed “Sicario”, says Deadline.
Keener joins Josh Brolin, reprising his role as CIA agent Matt Graver, and Benicio Del Toro, back as Alejandro Gillick, in the Stefano Sollima (“Gomorra”) directed movie.
Kenner plays Brolin’s boss, a woman charged with the task of navigating the gray area Gillick and Graver live in. The focus of the yarn involves goods, other than illegal immigrants and drugs, being smuggled across the border between Mexico and the U.S.
