“The Nun” is one of the many “Conjuring” sequels and spinoffs dominating the horror scene, with “The Crooked Man” getting his own flick soon, and the “Annabelle: Creation” release imminent. “The Conjuring” was an unlikely success, hence triggering a second and now third flick in the franchise, and the subsequent spinoffs.
Not much is known about the plot for “The Nun”, but we do know that Valek the Nun will be played by Bonnie Aarons again, who played the demonic figure in “The Conjuring 2”. Alongside Aarons stars Demian Bichir as Father Burke, Taissa Farmiga as Sister Irene and Charlotte Hope as Sister Victoria.
While “Annabelle” cashes in on the undeniable creepiness of dolls, “The Nun” is going to make you scared off going to church, if the image of the title character is anything to go by. And before you ask, why yes – it is my intention to give you nightmares tonight.
“The Nun” can be seen creeping on the cinema screen July 18, 2018.
