Danny Boyle departs James Bond 25

The director’s chair for “Bond 25” is now vacant, following the loss of Danny Boyle at the helm of the film. The film announced on Twitter that his departure was due to “creative differences”, so the movie will now need to seek out a new director.

Talks surrounding who would take the director job have been discussed for well over a year, with other names such as Sam Mendes, Christopher Nolan, Yann Demange, Denis Villeneuve and David Mackensie all being mentioned at some point.

Daniel Craig is in the lead role for the film, which has a release date of October 25th, 2019. With production set to begin in December, there’s still time to find a new director, but given this is Craig’s last stint at Bond (well, so he says…) – one would think that studios would be fussy, explaining Boyle’s exit.
