“Goosebumps 2” is a mere few weeks away, and it’s been revealed in the latest TV spot that Jack Black will make an appearance in the sequel. How much screen time will he get? That remains to be seen. Check out the spot below, and see it in time for Halloween from October 12! ?
The sequel to “Happy Death Day”, titled “Happy Death Day 2U” has been given a very romantic release date of February 14, 2019. Guys, if you want to your date cuddled in your arms, this may be the perfect flick to take her to if she’ll cower from fear.
The sequel sees Jessica Rothe return as Tree, and Israel Broussard as her boyfriend Carter Davis. Suraj Sharma joins the cast as a geeky science lover named Samar Ghosh, and Sarah Yarkin comes aboard as Dre Morgan – a tom boy science lover and Samar’s partner-in-crime.
On the topic of release dates, DC’s “Birds of Prey” has been given a release date of February 7, 2020. Margot Robbie will reprise her role of Harley Quinn, as played in “Suicide Squad”, and the flick centres on a gang of female DC characters who team up to take down a common enemy. Girl power! Among these characters includes Black Canary and Helena Bertinelli, aka Huntress. Cathy Yan is set to direct.
And speaking of directors, following the exit of Danny Boyle from the director’s chair of “James Bond 25”, “True Detective” director Cary Fukunaga will officially take over the role. The film has been pushed back to February 14th, 2020 release date.
It’s been 25 years since Whoopi Goldberg starred in “Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit” (do you feel old?), and unfortunately it seems that the actress won’t be returning in a big way for the upcoming 3rd film. Goldberg stated she wanted to return as Deloris Van Cartier, but Disney have decided to go in a different direction, stating it “will be a brand new rendition of Sister Act” – so expect a remake rather than a continuation of a story.
Michael B. Jordan is entering the world of Tom Clancy, being cast as John Clark in an upcoming film series. Jordan will be starring in two movies – “Without Remorse” then “Rainbow Six”, the former being an origin story for Clark. The film will set Jordon up as the character, who previously worked alongside Jack Ryan.
In further Michael B. Jordan news, the poster for “Creed II” has been revealed and it looks amazing! The film will see Jordan in the lead character of Adonis Creed, take on Drago Jr. in the boxing ring. Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) will return and be at Creed’s side throughout the film, and will no doubt learn what matters in life. Steven Caple Jr. directs “Creed II”, set for release in November. Bring it on!
“Space Jam 2” is finally happening, this time with basketball star LeBron James as the star. “Black Panther” director Ryan Coogler has also signed on to produce the sequel to the 1996 hit, which starred Michael Jordan and the cast of the Looney Tunes. Terence Nance will direct. Bugs Bunny will also return.
Mel Gibson will write and direct a remake of “Wild Bunch”, the classic 1969 western from Sam Peckinpah. Bryan Bagby will co-write with Gibson. The original film told the story of an aging group of outlaws going after one last score on the US and Mexico border, while being pursued by a merciless posse.
In more remake news, “A Train to Busan” is also getting the treatment, with James Wan and Gary Dauberman attached to the project. The original film was a South Korean zombie flick, so an English language remake will be very exciting indeed. The film saw a group of passengers trying to survive a deadly train ride from Seoul to Busan during a zombie outbreak.
