Wonder Woman boards Murder on Orient Express follow-up

‘Wonder Woman’ star Gal Gadot has booked a seat on Fox’s “Murder on the Orient Express” follow-up.

Kenneth Branagh will again direct and co-star -as Poirot – in “Death on the Nile”, which has already been locked by the Murdock’s for a December 20, 2019 release.

Based on the classic libretto by Agatha Christie, “Nile” centers on Poirot investigating a murder during a luxurious cruise on the Nile River that he just happens to be on. But just as he identifies a motley collection of would-be killers, several of the suspects also meet their demise, which only deepens the mystery. Michael Green, who also adapted ”Orient Express”, is the screenwriter.

Judy Hofflund, Simon Kinberg, Ridley Scott, Kevin Walsh and Mark Gordon are producing the film, which follows the very-successful “Orient Express” – which chalked up over $325 million worldwide.

Like the latter, “Death on the Nile” will likely feature a large name ensemble cast, Gadot is the first castmember (besides Branagh, of course) set.

The actress, currently shooting “Wonder Woman 1984”, will play Linnet Ridgeway Doyle, a rich heiress who falls in love with Simon. Lois Chiles played the role in the 1978 version.
