Hugh Grant to star in Guy Ritchie’s next gangster film

Hugh Grant is joining an all-star cast in “Toff Guys”, the next film from director Guy Ritchie. Grant joins Matthew McConaughey, Kate Beckinsale and Henry Golding (“Crazy Rich Asians”) in the gangster film, to be distributed by Miramax.

Per Deadline’s report, Grant will play the character of Fletcher, a British gossip journalist with a reputation of going into people’s lives and undoing them. The film, which was written by Ritchie alongside Marn Davies and Ivan Atkinson, will explore the collision between old-money European wealth and the modern marijuana industrial complex with new gang entrants swarming.

Grant recently starred in the limited Amazon series “A Very English Scandal” and “Paddington 2”. Ritchie recently wrapped up filming “Aladdin” – the live-action remake at Disney starring Will Smith, Mena Massoud, Naomi Scott and Marwan Kenzari.
