Original Ghostbusters return!?
Recently, Sigourney Weaver suggested to Parade Magazine that the original cast – including Bill Murray, who has always been hot and cold on reprising Peter Venkman – of Ivan Reitman’s 80s classic “Ghostbusters” will be back for the summer 2020 reboot.
Appearing at the Ghostbusters Fan Fest event in Los Angeles this past weekend, Director Reitman essentially confirmed the original bunch for upcoming threequel.
“Sigourney has read the screenplay… Dan has read it… Ernie’s read the script… Bill Murray has read the script.”
Reitman is of course referring to Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson.
Mckenna talks Ghostbusters
Out promoting the home entertainment release of “Captain America”, actress Mckenna Grace tells Comic Book Movie that it’s “super exciting” being part of the upcoming comedy sequel.
“No, don’t even try that with me, mister! I cannot,” Grace told the site with a laugh.
On joining Ghostbusters, Grace said, “I’m so excited about it because I’m a huge fan of the Ghostbusters so that’s going to be super exciting. I cannot share anything about it with you my friend, I’m really sorry!”
At the Fan Fest on the weekend, Reitman said of Grace : “Mckenna Grace, I had seen her in I, Tonya — Mckenna Grace played little Tonya Harding in I, Tonya — and was just extraordinary. She was little Captain Marvel. And she came and read, [and] was spectacular,” Reitman said, adding Grace “loves Ghostbusters.”
“She has all these photos of her in Ghostbusters gear throughout her childhood, and she met my father and she cried.”
A sequel to all-female “Ghostbusters” still could happen
“Ghostbusters : Answer the Call” director Paul Feig still holds out hope that a sequel to his 2016 comedy could come to fruition.
“We hope that there’s a second Call”, Feig said on Twitter this week.
