Jason Reitman’s “Ghostbusters 3” just got a lot more exciting, with Sigourney Weaver confirming her return as Dana Barrett! Speculation about the original cast reprising their roles has been rife for a while now, and Weaver is the first to confirm her return.
In an interview with Parade Magazine, Weaver didn’t say much about the sequel, but did state “It’s going to be crazy working with the guys again!”
The guys hey… well Dan Aykroyd has been teasing his involvement for some time now, as has Bill Murray, but no official word has been made about that as yet.
The Ghostbusters Fan Fest is happening on Saturday, with Reitman promising a big surprise – could this be a cast announcement?
Previously Aykroyd has stated:
“Ivan Reitman’s son Jason has written a beautiful script, I can’t say too much about it but it’s going to get made and hopefully there’ll be some familiar faces. It’s so different from even the first and second (film). This just takes it to a new generation and a new direction that is so warm, heartfelt and indeed, quite scary when you confront some of the issues that are being discussed.”
