Rick Famuyiwa (“Our Family Wedding”) is attached to direct a live-action action series based on the “Star Wars” prequel “Rogue One”.
The series, of which Famuyiwa would direct an undisclosed number of episodes, will star Diego Luna as rebel spy Cassian Andor.
Alan Tudyk is also expected to reprise his role as K2-SO from “Rogue One”. (More…)
Reginald Hudlin (“Boomerang”) will direct an untitled sports drama for Disney+. The “Django Unchained” producer will tackle a true story based on Ray Ray McElrathbey, who, as a freshman football player for Clemson University, started secretly raising his 11-year-old brother on campus due to his mother’s issues with addiction. “Bourne Identity” director Doug Liman is attached to direct Quibi’s first superhero show.
Liman’s digital production company 30 Ninjas is also producing the show, called “Crazy Talented”. It’s based on a short story by “Jumper” author Steven Gould — Liman directed a 2008 film based on that novel — and written by Michael Karnow (“Alphas”).[More…]
