After a knockout tour of 2019’s Tribeca Film Festival, Fantastic Fest and Fantasia Festival, writer/director Carlo Mirabella-Davis’ feature film debut Swallow is gearing up for its US release with the release of a brand new trailer and poster.
With a striking visual style, intriguing premise and a unsettlingly surreal tone that seems to evoke both David Fincher and David Lynch, Swallow stars Hayley Bennett as a Hunter, a newly pregnant young woman who begins to crack under the pressure of an overbearing family and the patriarchal expectations of the ‘perfect’ mother. In her husband’s absence, a strange and potentially deadly compulsion to consume inedible objects is stirred up from her past.
Swallow also stars Austin Stowell, Elizabeth Marvel, David Rasche, Luna Lauren Velez, Zabryna Guevara and Denis O’Hare (American Horror Story).
The film releases in select US theatres and VOD platforms on March 13th, 2020.
