Marshall directing Predators?

According to our friends at Bloody Disgusting, the always-dependable Neil Marshall (“Dog Soldiers”, “The Descent”, “Doomsday”) is in talks to helm “Predators” for producer Robert Rodriguez and Twentieth Century Fox.

Says the site, “To be clear, the deal is NOT SIGNED just yet, but getting closer”.

Oh, I’m sure someone with a direct line to the Rodriguez compound, and a spare key to the Texan director’s mail box, can confirm this rumour, can’t they? .

In all seriousness, lovin’ this! – Marshall could really bring, er, something to the series. He’s a visionary director, sure, but he’s also known for pushing the edge, pumping up the scares, not backing away (or should I say ‘cutting away’?) from blood, and giving audiences a good time. He’s got my vote. Bring it on!
