Chris Pratt will lend his lungs to an animated “Super Mario Bros” movie, Illumination Entertainment and Nintendo announced today.
The “Guardians of the Galaxy” star is set to animatically don the moustache of heroic plumber Mario in a new film set for theatrical release December 21, 2022.
Anya Taylor-Joy has been [perfectly] cast as Princess Peach with Charlie Day (“Pacific Rim”) as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Seth Road as [snigger] Donkey Kong, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek and Sebastian Maniscalco as Spike.
Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic (“Teen Titans Go! To the Movies”) direct, Matthew Fogel scripted.
Universal Pictures will distribute.
