Bradley Cooper to star in Steven Spielberg redo of Bullitt

McQueen’s son Chad is an executive producer on the pic, as is the late actor’s granddaughter Molly McQueen

Bradley Cooper will play Frank Bullitt, the no-nonsense cop previously played by Steve McQueen in the classic film Bullitt, in a new original take on the character from director Steven Spielberg.

McQueen’s son Chad is an executive producer on the pic, as is the late actor’s granddaughter Molly McQueen. A Star is Born‘s Cooper will also produce the pic along with Spielberg and his producing partner Kristie Macosko Krieger, with Josh Singer on board to pen the script.

The film, which sounds like it won’t share much of a connection with the 1968 film, has been in the talky stages since the start of the pandemic when Cooper and Spielberg starting talking about the possibility during the lockdown.
