John Cleese is set to reboot his much-loved comedy series “Fawlty Towers” with daughter Camilla Cleese.

Cleese will reprise Basil Fawlty, three decades after the original series concluded it’s 12-episode run, in a series that will “explore how Cleese’s over-the-top, cynical and misanthropic Basil Fawlty navigates the modern world”, according to Variety, with a scenario fixing on the relationship with his daughter as they manage a boutique hotel together.

The duo will both write and produce the new version, working alongside Rob Reiner. Cleese called a first meeting with the This is Spin Tap and Stand By Me alum, “one of the best creative sessions I can remember”.

Reiner, also working on a follow-up to his classic Spinal Tap, said: “John Cleese is a comedy legend. Just the idea of working with him makes me laugh.”
