‘Sledge Hammer’ star David Rasche has replaced Alec Baldwin on Sony’s terminally-troubled “Men in Black 3”, says Deadline.
The sequel, a time-traveling farce that takes agent J (Will Smith) back to the ’60s, had Baldwin penciled in to play the head of the MIB Agent X, back in the Kennedy-era. Baldwin recently skipped out on the project, opting instead to do Adam Shankman’s “Rock of Ages”.
Baldwin’s loss is Rasche’s gain; the TV fave – and star of such films as “The Big Tease”, “Flags of our Fathers” and “Burn After Reading” – hasn’t had a showy role like this in a while, so good on him! I imagine, mainly because he’s great in everything he does, Rasche’s also going to hit this role out of the park.
The actor is also set to return to full-time television, joining the cast of “Bored to Death”, the HBO comedy starring Jason Schwartzman, Ted Danson and Zack Galifianakis.
