Though Warner Bros has dropped the film, and producers are now shopping it elsewhere, star Jeff Daniels believes the sequel to the ’90s hit will still happen. ”It’s not my place to say, and it’s not a done deal by any means, but it’s close. I’m hoping that in the days or weeks to come very shortly here, they’ll be able to say, yes, we’re doing it, everything’s tied up, and we have a shoot date. We’re not there yet, but it’s very close. I know Jim [Carrey] wants to do it, I want to do it, the Farrellys want to do it. These things are complicated, putting all these movie deals together. And it’s not even on the talent side, it’s on the business side for the studios and the distributors and the production companies. They’re working out final details, and I hope we’re shooting that later this summer. But we’ll see. I haven’t checked my phone lately. But it could be — I hope pretty quickly. But I don’t know. The sequel to the unofficial “Alien” prequel is moving ahead at Fox. Jack Palgen (“Transcendence”) is in talks to write the film, which Ridley Scott is expected to return as director for. Jon Spaihts and Damon Lindelof wrote the first film. (Variety)

Disney has ordered the “Boy Meets World” sequel pilot to series. The family series is being eyed for 2014, with filming due to begin in the Summer (The Hollywood Reporter)

Joss Whedon says Loki won’t be back for “The Avengers 2”. “Imitating what I did before is the surest way to do it not as well,” he explained. “Second of all, Loki is not there to say those terrible things.” (Empire)
