New scribes aboard Fantastic Four, Legend of Conan

Some new scribes aboard some new franchises today.

Firstly, “X-Men” and “Mr and Mrs Smith” (he wrote that in college, if I recall correctly) alum Simon Kinberg has jumped aboard Fox’s “Fantastic Four” reboot. Kinberg is writing the thing with Matthew Vaughn, with whom he also collaborated on “X-Men : First Class” with. Josh Trank (“Chronicle”) is directing the picture (Deadline)

Meanwhile in muscleville, Andrea Berloff (“World Trade Center”) has been enlisted to do script work on the Arnold Schwarzenegger-starring “Legend of Conan”. Chris Morgan wrote the story for the sequel, which sees the Oak reprising his legendary character from the ’80s classic. The flick is being produced by Fredrik Malmberg through Paradox Entertainment and Morgan & Emile Gladstone through their Chris Morgan Productions banner. (Deadline)
