Lily James (“Downton Abbey”) and Paul Dano (“Prisoners”) are in talks for the BBC and Weinstein Company adaptation of Leo Tolstoy’s classic “War And Peace”.
According to Deadline, James would play Natasha Rostova, and Dano would play Pierre Bezukhov. Audrey Hepburn and Peter Fonda played the roles in the 1956 feature.
The miniseries, set to air in the UK in 2015, is one of the first big small-screen projects for The Weinstein Company, as they make plans to forge into the European TV arena.
