The “Fast & Furious” franchise hasn’t seen Eva Mendes’ Agent Monica Fuentes since the second film in the series, but according to El Mayimbe the character might be a large fixture of “Fast & Furious 8”.
In addition to a New York setting, and the return of Kurt Russell’s Mr Nobody, the inevitable seventh sequel in the hit series will purportedly bring back the “2 Fast 2 Furious” character.
Mendes had a cameo in the mid-credits sequence of “Fast Five”, which suggested she might return for the sixth chapter – alas, no dice. It’s possible that the actress would’ve returned for an appearance towards the end of “Fast & Furious 7” had the script not had to been rewritten – and understandably so – to serve as a goodbye to the departed Paul Walker.
With “Furious 7” raking in big box office over the weekend, it’s likely Universal will soon officially announce their plans their the eighth film.
