Keith Stanfield & Will Poulter added to War Machine

“Straight Outta Compton” star Keith Stanfield will join Brad Pitt, Topher Grace, Scoot McNairy, Emory Cohen, John Magaro and Anthony Michael Hall in Plan B Entertainment and Netflix’s “War Machine”.

Will Poulter is also in talks to join the cast.

David Michôd’s directs the provocative, satirical comedy from his own script which was inspired by Michael Hastings’ best-selling book “The Operators: The Wild and Terrifying Inside Story of America’s War in Afghanistan”.

“War Machine” follows a four star, “rock star” general (Pitt) whose lethal reputation and impeccable track record vaults him to command the American war in Afghanistan. Hall will play General Hank Pulver, loosely based on Stanley McCrystal’s second in command, General Mike Flynn.

Production will kick off later this month with Netflix releasing the film in theatres and on its streaming service next year.
