Mean Girls director is going back to school for Dork Diaries

“Mean Girls” director Mark Waters is in talks to direct Lionsgate’s adaptation of middle school comedy “Dork Diaries”.

Based on Rachel Renee Russell’s book series, “Dork Diaries” centers on eighth grader Nikki Maxwell as she faces making new friends and enemies at a new private school.

Annie Hendy wrote the script. John Sacchi is producing.
