A few weeks back, word loudly leaked that John Krasinski was back scripting a sequel to his 2018 gem “A Quiet Place”. As the story usually goes, if he doesn’t write it, someone else will – and does he want to be responsible for what could potentially tarnish the reputable brand he’d created!?
At the time, the actor cum filmmaker was considering directing the film but wasn’t sure. Likely experiencing the same “but if I don’t do it, who will… and will they screw it up!?” fear he did as the scribe, Krasinski, says THR , has officially agreed to return to shoot his new script.
And if that’s not pleasing-enough news, the trade says the cast of the original film, headed by Krasinski’s actress wife Emily Blunt, is also a lock for the sequel. Kid stars Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe are also in talks to reprise their roles from the creature-feature.
The producing team on the film considered two options for the follow-up: one would have focused on a brand new aspect of the postapocalyptic world featuring the creatures, and the second involved the continuing saga of the protective mother and her children.
“A Quiet Place 2” goes before the cameras this summer.
