Seems reports that the Wachowskis are plugging in for a a fourth “Matrix” are about as accurate as a King Shark wearing the face of Jared Svenning from “Mallrats“.
“John Wick: Chapter 3” director Chad Stahelski, who doubled for Keanu Reeves on the original ‘Matrix’ trilogy, recently let slip in an interview that Lana and Andy are working on a third sequel to their groundbreaking sci-fi hit.
Stahelski’s peeps reached out to Slash Film, concerned that such a rumor might spread (heh), and quickly put a cap on it by clarifying the filmmaker’s statements. In short, the Wachowski’s aren’t attached to a fourth “Matrix”.
Having said that, there were rumors a while back that Warner Bros were keen on continuing the franchise, hiring “X-Men” alum Zak Penn to help wrestle a new incarnation into shape. So, yes, there’s a good chance we will indeed see Neo – or Neo’s bro Leo or dashing Australian cousin ‘Freo’ – again sometime.
