Air Force One sequel lifting off at Sony?

A sequel to Wolfgang Peterson’s “Air Force One” (1997) is said to be in the works at Sony.

According to Discussing Film, the follow-up may or may not involve Harrison Ford’s President James Marshall – but likely will involve airborne transportation and heroism.

Personally,I don’t expect Ford will be back to reprise his role in this one – while it was one of the highlights of his ‘90s efforts, it’s not a top 10-er by any means. Plus he has bigger fish to fry at the moment, like a long-awaited fifth “Indiana Jones”.

With Sony ramping up their direct-to-sequel sub-genre in recent years – their new “Benchwarmers” and “Daddy Day Care” spin-offs just hit – it’s quite possible this will by a cinema bypasser.

Happy to be wrong though! Nothing like seeing Ford belting Russian Gary Oldman types out the back of jets, right!?
