In ‘we saw that coming news’, Warner Bros are – not surprisingly – looking to adapt JK Rowling’s West End play “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” into a flick. You didn’t think it’d just remain a play, did you!? Was never going to remain a one-medium deal. Never. Anyway….furthermore, The NY Daily News says they’re already seeking out Daniel Radcliffe to wield the wand again.
Those that have read/seen “Cursed Child” will know that it picks up 19 years after the last “Harry Potter” film, “Deathly Hallows”, thus our lead would have to look significantly older now. Which I guess Radcliffe does… or could.
Should Warner ditch the idea to turn “Cursed Child” into a Radcliffe-starrer, they’ve apparently considered retooling the libretto to be the first of a new film trilogy fixing on Potter’s son, Albus. Albus, as most know, is a pivotal character in the storyline –alongside his veteran wizard pop.
While Warner continue to tinker with ideas, Potterheads have spin-off project “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” opening in a couple of months – that three-film concept should hold them over.
But what do you guys think? Should Radcliffe go back to well?
