“Suicide Squad” star Jared Leto will play Andy Warhol in a biopic the versatile thesp is producing with Michael De Luca, according to THR.

Terrence Winter’s screenplay will be based on the Victor Bockris 1989 book, ”Warhol: The Biography” of which Leto and De Luca jointly own the rights.

Warhol, the famed pop artist who made a name for himself thanks to his awesome blend of awesome and commerce, stormed the art world in the ’60s with his amazing pieces. The owner of the art studio The Factory, which attracted all sorts of high-society Manhattanites, passed away in 1987.

Warhol was reportedly both a rather cold person who constantly had to be the center of attention and a brilliant eccentric who wore wigs and even went to hairdressers to have them cut to his liking.

Oscar winner Leto (“The Dallas Buyers Club”) recently played the role of The Joker in this Summer’s “Suicide Squad”. Next, he’ll be seen in Denis Villeneuve’s sequel to “Blade Runner”.
