Hot on the heels of a report a couple of days ago that a “Final Destination” might be in the works, THR have confirmed the project, adding that “Piranha 3DD” and “Saw : The Final Chapter” scribes Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan are on screenplay duty.
While details are still scarce on the new incarnation of the New Line horror classic, the film is being billed as a “reimagining”.
Horror fans will recall that Melton and Dunstan were winners on season three of “Project Greenlight”, and went on to produce the horror film “Feast” as a result. In addition to working on four “Saw” sequels, the “Piranha 3D” sequel and the upcoming “Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark”, they’re currently working on an untitled Christmas horror project for Sony and Platinum Dunes and a film at Paramount titled “The Reckoning”.
