Stranger Things Season 4 episode count revealed

Netflix officially announced a few days back that viewers will be transported back to the upside down mid-next year, with the fourth season of “Stranger Things” returning summer 2020.

We now know how many episodes that highly-anticipated season will run.

According to TV Line, Season 4 will consist of eight episodes. For those keeping count, that’s the same episode count as the first and third season, but slightly – it had nine – shorter than the second season.

A shorter season generally means that the story will run swifter, pacier and be a more tighter package.

“I think the biggest thing that’s going to happen is it’s going to open up a little bit, not necessarily in terms of scale, in terms of special effects, but open up in terms of allowing plotlines into areas outside of Hawkins,” Matt Duffer told EW last July.

At the end of Season 3, Joyce, Jonathan, Will, and Eleven all left Hawkins, while Hopper mysteriously vanished – is he dead? Doubtful.

“Stranger Things” Season 4 won’t wrap until next August, which means the show won’t be back on air until late summer – or late 2020 – at the earliest.
