Halo finds its Master Chief!

One of the best talents on screens small and big, not to mention one of the nicest blokes around, actor Pablo Schreiber has snared the lead role in the Showtime series “Halo”. This is the long-awaited TV (originally, film) take on the Xbox game franchise.

Schreiber, who won an Emmy and a horde of fans for his turn on “Orange is the New Black”, plays Master Chief, Earth’s most advanced warrior in the 26th century and the only hope of salvation for a civilization pushed to the brink of destruction by the Covenant, an unstoppable alliance of alien worlds committed to the destruction of humanity.

Joining the actor is Yerin Ha, who will play a new character within the HALO world: Quan Ah, a shrewd, audacious 16-year-old from the Outer Colonies who meets Master Chief at a fateful time for them both.

“Halo” will begin production this fall in Budapest, Hungary.

Not a bad score for Schreiber, getting the Master Chief role, considering Denzel Washington had been circling the role- when the project was set up to be a film – for years.
