Bumblebee director bringing Lee Majors’ classic to the big screen!

Speaking of long waits (oh, sorry, forget that sometimes we don’t have audio here – otherwise you’d know I’m here waiting for someone to vacate one of these public restrooms. What are they doing in here? playing computer battleship with those in the stalls surrounding them!?), that forever-gestating “Six Billion Dollar Man” movie – a film take, with interest, on the “Six Million Dollar Man” TV classic – looks to have cut a break.

Peter Berg is no longer attached to helm, but Mark Wahlberg – who has been long attached to play Steve Austin, the character Lee Majors played on the box- is sticking around for an incarnation to now be directed by “Bumblebee” helmer Travis Knight.

They were talking about Mel Gibson directing for a while – he was also rumored for a role in the film; not sure if that’s still the case – but his knack might be too black for this one. Knight’s a better fit.

“Bumblebee” was the shizzle, a really incredible family film, so couldn’t happier to hear this news. Now all we need is Lee Majors, to play ‘the Six Billion Dollar Grandpa’, and we’ve got something here!
