TCA : Arrow spin-off in the pipeline

Another superhero series, set in the ‘Arrowverse’, is in the pipeline, CW network brass confirmed today at the TCAs in Beverly Hills.

President Mark Pedowitz confirmed that they’re on the hunt for another title, set in the same universe as the net’s current superhero offerings, for next season.  First though, a DC-comics property that doesn’t necessarily feature any of the characters introduced on “Arrow”.

“The fact that seven years ago, we introduced Arrow, who would have thought it would have spawned six shows, a whole universe that they managed to create. It’s quite a remarkable feat,” he added.

As for what we can expect in the last season of “Arrow”?

“The whole season is leading up to ‘Crisis’ and the crossover we’ve never done before”, explained executive producer Beth Schwartz. “And like Stephen [Amell] said, Season 7 ended our normal structure of how the show’s been, and this year, because we’re leading up to something spectacular, we’re allowed to have huge event episodes, and we’re allowed to bring characters back that we haven’t seen in a while. Each episode is humongous. It’s not like anything we’ve seen on the show before.”

The eighth and final season of “Arrow”, which picks up a week after the events of the season seven finale, premieres Oct. 15 on The CW.
