Twin Peaks fave cast in Zoë Kravitz’s feature directorial debut

Channing Tatum stars in the genre pic, now lensing in Mexico.

“Mad Max Fury Road” actress Zoë Kravitz will make her feature directorial debut on genre pic “Pussy Island” for MGM. Currently in production in Mexico, it stars Naomie Ackie, Channing Tatum and Simon Rex and “follows Frida (Ackie), a young and clever Los Angeles cocktail waitress who has her eyes set on the prize: philanthropist and tech mogul Slater King (Tatum). When she skillfully maneuvers her way into King’s inner circle and ultimately an intimate gathering on his private island, she is ready for a journey of a lifetime. Despite the epic setting, beautiful people, ever-flowing champagne and late-night dance parties, Frida can sense that there’s more to this island than meets the eye. Something she can’t quite put her finger on. Something terrifying”, says Deadline.

Over the past couple of days, MGM has announced more cast to the fright-flick including Christian Slater, Alia Shawkat, Geena Davis, Adria Arjona, Haley Joel Osment, Liz Caribel Sierra, Levon Hawke, Trew Mullen, Saul Williams and Cris Costa.

She’s also signed up “Twin Peaks” and “Joe vs. Carole” alum Kyle MacLachlan. MacLachlan, whose role hasn’t yet been revealed, is on a real roll lately; he recently starred opposite Kate McKinnon in the aforesaid Peacock limited series based on Tiger King and will next be seen opposite Jon Hamm in the film ”Confess, Fletch”. The 63-year-old actor has also popped up on Hulu’s “How I Met Your Father”, starred in 2020’s “Atlantic Crossing” mini-series and the sitcom “Carol’s Last Act”, and snagged a plum role in the small screen adaptation of the game “Fallout”.
