Rumours are still running rampant that Popstress Kylie Minogue is about to sign on for a film version of the Tim Rice musical “Chess”. Rice recently met up with Kylie in Paris to discuss the script – and she apparently thought it was sensational [next to “Biodome” anything would be sensational though!]. Rice wrote the musical with Benny and Björn from ABBA. It tells the story of a chess tournament set against the back-drop of the Cold War, in which an American and Russian player battle it out for the World championship and the affections of the same women – Minogue would play one of the latter parts. Latest on the project is that it might be heading towards the cameras first quarter next year. It’s expected to be filmed in London. Apparently Miss Minogue is being roped into doing a slew of the music for the production. Everyone from Jude Law to Brendan Gleeson is being discussed as male lead contenders.
